The budget of the Algerian Ministry of Culture continues to follow an increasing curve since 2005.

It is about 314 million dollars according to the Finance Law of 2011, an increase of +6% over 2010, and 0.82% of the state budget.

Not included into this budget, the "National Fund for preparation and organization of the event: Tlemcen capital of Islamic culture 2011", created by decree in 2009, and which reached, according to Minister of Culture, 138 million dollars.

Thus, adding this special fund to the budget of Culture 2011, we arrive at approximately 452 million dollars. A new historical record that far exceeds that recorded in 2009 (360 million dollars) which takes into account the budget of the 2nd Pan-African Festival of Algiers. It is the largest budget devoted to culture in Africa and the Arab region.

Between 2007 and 2011, the budget devoted to culture in Algeria was 1 billion 300 million dollars.
